Job Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist to lead the electrical aspects of substation and renewable project tenders. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, with occasional travel to and from site.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the electrical engineering aspects of substation and renewable project tenders
  • Review project requirements, specifications, drawings, and calculations
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to prepare accurate tender submissions
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Review supplier quotations for technical compliance and value engineering opportunities
  • Provide input into tender programmes, budgets, and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
  • Support the handover of successful tenders to project delivery teams
  • Stay informed on new technologies and methods to improve cost, quality, and timescales

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or higher) with 3+ years' experience in substations, high/medium voltage, and renewables
  • Proven tendering experience with strong knowledge of the substation, utilities, and renewables sector
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ePlan, MS Office; familiarity with ESB/EirGrid specifications an advantage
  • Strong client-facing, communication, and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to work independently or lead a team
  • Safety-focused, proactive, and adaptable with a collaborative approach
