Accounting Specialist Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our finance team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions to ensure accurate financial records and smooth financial operations.
  2. Debtor & Creditor set up & maintenance.
  3. Process customer invoices on a daily basis.
  4. Credit Control: ensuring prompt payment receipts.
  5. Liaise with all customers and deal with any invoice-related issues.
  6. Process all cash receipts/customer payments and bank lodgements.
  7. Input and maintain all vendor invoices.
  8. Generate payment runs and process payments through online banking.
  9. Monthly bank account reconciliation.
  10. Credit Card reconciliation.
  11. Prepare bi-monthly VAT returns.
  12. Process Vies/Intrastat.
  13. Process monthly journals on system.
  14. Maintain multicurrency exchange rates.
  15. Maintain accurate filing system.
  16. Liaise with auditors and prepare files for auditors.
  17. Attend seminars and classes as required.
  18. Perform other duties as requested by Management.

Requirements:

  • AAT Accredited.
  • Other accountancy qualifications or strong experience are an advantage.
  • Have a minimum of 1–2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Be able to work on your own initiative but also as part of a team.
  • Have good flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Be able to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Have excellent organisational skills to maintain tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
