
Chief Planning Strategist

We are seeking an experienced Planning Team Lead to drive our planning operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality planning advice and services for various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a high-performing team of planners, fostering a collaborative culture.
- Oversee resource allocation, workload planning, and project prioritisation within the planning team.
- Provide technical oversight and quality assurance on all planning deliverables.
- Manage the preparation and submission of planning applications, EIAs, and related documentation.
- Oversee planning input into renewable energy, infrastructure, and development projects from feasibility to consent stages.
- Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders to facilitate project approvals.
- Support business growth by contributing to bids, tenders, and proposals.
- Monitor changes in planning legislation and policy to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice.
- Contribute to company-wide initiatives on sustainability, innovation, and operational improvement.
- Relevant degree in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
- Chartered membership of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years' professional planning experience, including team management.
- Strong understanding of Irish planning legislation, policy, and environmental assessment processes.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working on renewable energy, infrastructure, or environmental projects.
- Experience across both urban and rural planning contexts.
- Familiarity with cross-border planning considerations in Ireland/UK.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. They should also demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
