Head of Fuel and Operations Finance

Job Description:

A leading player in the Irish mobility energy sector seeks a commercially astute Head of Fuel and Operations Finance to oversee financial and operational controls across retail and wholesale fuel sales and logistics.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for producing high-quality financial reports, including Fuel Trading Accounts and Bulk and Fuelcard customer profitability analyses, ensuring robust governance, risk management and maximum profitability from fuel pricing and distribution processes.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing financial and operating controls, accounting systems and management reporting relating to fuel sales and distribution.
  • Contributing to the implementation of an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution and identifying opportunities to streamline operations.
  • Managing the Fuelcard teams in Mallusk and the Fuels Finance team in Dublin.
  • Supporting the Fuel Operations Manager in the fuel ordering process and regularly reviewing supply points.
  • Directing the budgeting and forecasting process for all fuel-related activity and approving major business cases, investment appraisals and financial models.

The ideal candidate will possess significant post-qualification experience in a finance leadership position within a related industry, with a demonstrable track record of successfully leading and developing finance teams to achieve business objectives.

Candidates should also have evidence of delivering sound strategic financial advice to senior stakeholders, previous success in developing and implementing innovative business processes, and experience in using integrated financial systems.
