Lead Heart Valve Development Engineer

We are seeking a skilled engineer to lead the development of heart valve replacement devices. As a key member of the structural heart startup, you will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation aortic valve replacement devices.

  • Leverage your expertise in material development, nitinol, and valve interface requirements to create innovative designs.
  • Ensure all design and development activities meet required regulatory requirements per ISO 5840 and clinical end-user needs.
  • Develop detailed component and subsystem drawings/designs using SolidWorks.
  • Mentor postdoctoral research candidates engaged in implant development activities, including in silico and in vitro testing.
  • Conduct hands-on testing and builds, and create prototypes and design iterations to evaluate valve designs, materials, and deployment techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Biomedical/Polymer) or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in medical device process development/R&D.
  • Proven expertise in SolidWorks modelling and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with FEA/CFD application towards implant development.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop product-driven bench test methods and perform hands-on testing diligently.
