Job Description

Our client is seeking an ambitious and self-motivated professional to join their accounting practice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is commercially minded, enjoys working closely with clients and mentoring a team.

This role involves taking the lead on a varied portfolio of SME clients, acting as their main point of contact for all accounting and tax matters. The successful candidate will oversee the preparation of financial statements, corporation tax compliance, company secretarial filings and VAT and payroll returns.

The position requires managing workflows and delegating tasks across the non-audit team to ensure efficient and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will review and sign off on files, outputs and financial statements prior to final issue.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualified ACA (or equivalent), with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in practice.
  • Strong working knowledge of FRS 102 and tax compliance across key heads: Corporation Tax, PAYE, VAT.
  • Experience managing both clients and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
