Global Label Operations Manager Job Description

This is a senior-level role that involves providing leadership in labelling project management, including strategic and tactical planning, forecasting, and execution of label changes to ensure the labelling organization meets global performance objectives.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading packaging and artwork strategy, managing shared label strategies across the product lifecycle, and driving cross-functional alignment with key stakeholders such as manufacturing, engineering, regulatory, and supply chain.
  • They will also be responsible for ensuring supply continuity and compliance with content and market requirements for new product launches, safety updates, and other labelling initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide global leadership in the strategic planning and forecasting of label change projects across product portfolios.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of labelling briefs within the Artwork Management System, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Oversee project management activities within the system for Production, Design, and Asset workflows.
  4. Lead end-to-end label change projects for launches, site transfers, market-specific updates, and other labelling-related initiatives.
  5. Drive and lead formal label change reviews; track and report on performance metrics to monitor execution and compliance.
  6. Serve in a leadership role within the Packaging and Artwork Strategy, guiding long-term alignment across departments.
  7. Develop and maintain shared label strategies to optimize efficiency and consistency over the product lifecycle.
  8. Own and manage Change Plans related to labelling operations, ensuring timely and compliant implementation.
  9. Act as business process owner for specific labelling procedures, serving as subject matter expert for documentation and process improvement.
  10. Take a lead role in early development labelling activities, including strategic planning and coordination of labelling activities to support product launch readiness.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business, or supply chain; minimum 5 years' experience in operations, regulatory affairs, or quality.
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience working across multi-cultural, cross-functional, and matrixed global environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience engaging with all levels of internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in problem-solving and negotiation, with a focus on resolution and consensus-building.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and project execution.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory, quality, and supply chain considerations for labelling, including the risks of non-compliance.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and combination products, particularly as they relate to packaging and labelling systems.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities with experience delivering complex initiatives in regulated environments.
