Pre-Construction Engineer Role for Electrical Projects

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in reviewing technical documentation, engaging with the supply chain, and ensuring that tender submissions are technically sound and commercially aligned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Electrical tender documents for large-scale projects to ensure technical clarity and scope completeness.
- Identify design gaps, coordination issues, or areas needing clarification to support accurate pricing by the Estimation Team.
- Provide structured summaries of complex design information to support estimators in developing accurate costs.
- Assist in preparing RFIs and technical queries.
- Review Electrical equipment, subcontractor, and specialist supplier packages for compliance with performance specifications and design intent.
- Develop technical comparisons across multiple supplier proposals to support procurement recommendations.
- Lead or attend technical review meetings with vendors to ensure scope alignment and inclusion of critical elements.
- Support the development of Electrical-specific sections of tender returns, including overview of Electrical works, construction methodologies, risks, value engineering opportunities, and proposed suppliers.
Requirements & Experience:
- Third-level qualification in Electrical Services Engineering.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in a Electrical contracting or consulting environment, ideally with exposure to pre-construction roles.
- Experience interpreting and reviewing complex Electrical tender designs, specifications, and technical documents.
- Prior exposure to data centre projects is desirable.
