Job Overview

Senior Governance Position

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced individual to join our organization as a senior governance member.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with governing documents and charitable purpose for public benefit
  • Ensuring the organization operates in its best interests
  • Managing assets effectively
  • Contributing to strategic direction using insight, oversight, and experience in strategy formation
  • Providing legal counsel and assisting with legal aspects and best practices
  • Liaising with solicitors, accountants, and auditors
  • Assisting with creating strategic plans complying with legislation and best practices
  • Ensuring good governance principles are upheld

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should be qualified solicitors or barristers with at least five years' experience. Expertise in housing and property areas such as landlord/tenancy issues, contract law, and conveyancing is beneficial. Experience in employment law and company law is also advantageous.

Meetings and Committment

The role requires attendance at four board meetings per annum, which may take place in Adare, Co Limerick, or Limerick City.
