As a pivotal member of the Financial Operations department, the SPV Controller plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the multifaceted aspects of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Governance & Control:
    • Review and scrutinize SPV financial statements and NAV calculations to ensure accuracy and transparency.
    • Provide timely and comprehensive reporting to stakeholders, including fund management and investors.
    • Effectively manage cash flows, capital calls, distributions, and intercompany financing between SPVs and fund entities.
    • Ensure seamless annual and interim audits by providing complete and accurate deliverables.
  • Cash Management Optimization:
    • Monitor and manage daily cash positions across SPVs to maintain liquidity and funding availability.
    • Strategically optimize use of surplus cash in line with fund policies and financing arrangements.
    • Prepare detailed funds flow statements to support efficient routing of cash between SPVs within the structure.
  • Operational Oversight & Risk Mitigation:
    • Coordinate with external partners, including fund administrators, legal counsel, and auditors on SPV-related matters.
    • Implement robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Maintain up-to-date corporate governance records (board minutes, shareholder resolutions, filings) to ensure transparency and accountability.
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Proven experience in private equity, fund structures, and SPV accounting principles.
  • Hands-on expertise in cash management and treasury processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple SPVs across jurisdictions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights.
  • High attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting and reporting systems, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
