Senior Project Manager for Highways and Active Travel

This is a high-level, senior role that involves leading teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, specifically in highways and infrastructure schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, architects, and other stakeholders
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff members to ensure they develop their skills and knowledge
  • Prepare detailed reports and technical documents for clients and stakeholders
  • Plan and manage complex design work, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Coordinate work with other project team members to achieve project objectives
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery
Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with Chartered Engineer status
  • 12 years post-graduate experience in highways and infrastructure schemes, including delivery of highway or greenway projects
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery in accordance with TII Project Management Guidelines Phases 0 to 7
  • Experience in managing design and build projects, including multi-disciplinary design management
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills
  • Able to work efficiently and independently, with minimal supervision
  • Prepared to travel for site visits and client meetings as required
