Overview
MetroLink Delivery Engineer (Grade 2) role at Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

The MetroLink Programme is a transformative public transport project in Dublin, delivering a 19 km metro route with 16 new stations.
The Delivery Engineer provides support to the MetroLink Directorate, leading a team through challenging projects to introduce new technology and methods, and delivering the technical aspects of design and construction to achieve the Permit to Operate (PTO).

Responsibilities (Principal Accountabilities)
Provide experienced support to the Delivery Team across enabling works activities (survey, design, procurement, contract management & administration, installation, equipment testing and site handover), ensuring technical accuracy and smooth coordination.
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports related to the project scope.
Assist in developing and coordinating processes and procedures to ensure consistency and quality from design to manufacture and test phases.
Monitor design performance and quality by the Contractor and track progress against the programme.
Compile and organise Contractor/Consultant submissions for review.
Uphold and oversee the design process including interface details, RFIs, design changes (RFC) and variations between Contractor and Civil Works Contractor.
Oversee management of Contractors' Civil Works, Systems and Delivery teams.
Proactively monitor project progress, issues, and assist in implementing solutions to maintain momentum.
Participate in regular design process meetings and workshops with the integrated Metrolink team.
Work with the Delivery Team to ensure requirements are clearly presented and interfaced by all discipline Engineers.
Contribute to reports with measurement metrics to guide the contractor in task delivery.
Maintain records of status of activities under direct management and share information with the Delivery Team.
Manage review and preparation of various reports and correspondence related to the project.
Support review of statutory outputs, including environmental protection requirements (e.g., EIA, AA, EIAR) as necessary.
Promote an equitable, inclusive and collaborative workplace.
Perform additional duties as required within the project scope.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an engineering environment, either in design or construction for projects in an urban area.
Transport infrastructure experience is desirable.
Skills
Knowledge of relevant engineering specifications and standards (IS, BS, EN, NFPA, and other applicable international frameworks) and ability to interpret and apply them across multidisciplinary projects.
Knowledge of civil, structural, and temporary works activities.
Ability to engage with and manage relationships with stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
Strong verbal and written communications to facilitate clear dialogue between all parties.
Collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and deliver cohesive project outcomes.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to engage and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education & Qualifications
A degree (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or related discipline.
Professional Memberships / Certifications
Project management qualification such as PMP is desired but not required.
Membership of a related professional organisation or eligibility to apply.
