Job Title: Data Governance Professional

The position supports core data compliance operations at a leading financial services organization. This includes assisting the Chief Compliance Officer with implementing the privacy program to ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing privacy risk assessments, including impact assessments and third-party data security evaluations
  • Inform and advise employees on obligations under global data protection laws
  • Handle requests from individuals regarding their personal data and exercise of their rights
  • Support management of requests from supervisory authorities
  • Maintain records of processing activities and purposes
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure data compliance
  • Monitor effectiveness of data controls and technologies
  • Assess legal and regulatory changes impacting data protection
  • Act as contact for auditors
  • Develop and maintain data risk frameworks in collaboration with teams
  • Coordinate with information security to manage data incidents
  • Create training and awareness content
  • Review and advise on data sharing and processing agreements

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of global data protection laws and regulations
  • 8+ years experience in data compliance or related functions, with managing data risk assessments
  • Experience advising stakeholders on data issues
  • Degree in law, data protection, business, security, or related field preferred; professional certifications like CIPP/E, CIPM preferred
  • Understanding of AI, data-enhancing technologies, security concepts, and data protection obligations
  • Knowledge of data contractual arrangements and data transfer agreements
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into solutions
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of data governance and data ethics principles
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
