Job Title

**Nursing Leadership Role**

The Clinical Nurse Manager I position involves overseeing the education and development of nursing staff through in-service training, new staff orientation, and arranging clinical experience and supervision.

  • Provide comprehensive orientation and supervision to new nursing staff, ensuring they comprehend policies and procedures.
  • Identify the training needs of the nursing and Health Care Assistant team and offer guidance and support.
  • Foster evidence-based practice by utilizing a care planning approach to deliver high-quality nursing care.
  • Monitor and evaluate care provided to patients.
  • Implement and assess quality management programs in collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals and others to devise patient care plans.
  • Ensure that high standards of care are consistently delivered and maintained for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as deputy to the CNM II when required. Adhere to the Code of Professional Practice and Behaviours.

Effectively communicate in English language, both written and spoken. Participate and cooperate with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Registered General Nurse with The Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible to register.
  • Three years of post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting or relevant clinical area within the last five years.
  • Demonstrate management/in-charge experience within the last year.
  • Foundation course in gerontology or equivalent qualification.
  • MSc in Gerontological Nursing or commitment to undertake same.
