Job Description

The Disability Support Professional will provide direct care and support to residents, including assisting with daily living skills, personal care, and promoting independence. This role involves acting as a key worker for named residents, supporting their individual goals and education, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure holistic care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred care and support to residents with intellectual disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injuries.
  • Act as a key worker for named residents, supporting their individual goals and education.
  • Assist residents with daily living skills, personal care, and promoting independence.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure holistic care and support.

Requirements:

  • Hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices and their application to service provision.
  • Experience working in a residential, respite, or day service setting with persons with an intellectual disability.
  • Knowledge of Person-Centred Planning.
  • Knowledge of clinical and human resource policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of National Disability Standards (HIQA).
