About the Role
We are currently hiring Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians to work as technical resources in our mission-critical data centers in multiple locations across Sweden.
This role requires the ability to work a 24x7 shift rotation. Key responsibilities include assisting in the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and HVAC equipment within the data center. This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the maintenance and monitoring of all data center systems, troubleshooting and monitoring mechanical, electrical, HVAC, voice/data, cooling, fire/life safety systems, and generators. The ideal candidate will also assist contractors or engineers in maintaining facility equipment, deploying new equipment (racks, cabling, etc.), and conducting site walkthroughs to verify equipment and system operations.
The successful candidate will monitor alarms and systems that manage power, cooling, and fire suppression in the data center, coordinate vendor work on-site to ensure equipment is maintained and uptime is preserved, and support other teams and sites during events and planned works. They will also handle rack installations and powering up equipment, monitor and facilitate the handover of new equipment, share knowledge and support new team members, and participate in event response drills.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess 1 to 4 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or controls systems, along with knowledge and application of electrical safety practices according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies. Proficiency in basic IT programs such as MS Word and Excel is also required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications for this role include professional certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering, heavy industry or Data Center experience, working knowledge of mechanical-room infrastructure like chillers, Air Handling Units, and fan controls, and experience working with backup generator systems.
