Theatre Management Opportunity
Seeking a seasoned theatre manager to lead and manage a team of nursing and support colleagues in the provision of patient-centered, evidence-based quality patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate and manage activity and resources within the Theatre, Endoscopy, and CSSD department to ensure safe, quality assured, efficient service for patients and colleagues.
- In consultation with CNMs, Consultants, and other disciplines, implement and assess quality management programmes.
- Develop services within the theatre and endoscopy department.
- Build strong relationships between colleagues and other staff by maintaining high professional standards.
- Work within allocated resources through rigorous planning, monitoring, and evaluation of all available resources.
- Collaborate as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team promoting good teamwork and excellent patient care.
- Manage communication at departmental level and facilitate team building.
- Provide leadership and motivation conducive to good working relations and work performance.
- Lead and implement change as required.
- Develop evidence-based policies and procedures to support best practice. Monitor and improve as necessary.
- Ensure the development and induction programme for trained and untrained staff is in place for the clinical area.
- Identify opportunities for staff professional development aligned with service requirements.
- Comply with relevant accreditation standards and identify/ implement opportunities for quality improvement.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Be a registered general nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Hold 3-5 years' experience in a leadership role within a theatre environment.
- Hold a qualification in Peri-operative Nursing.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to influence others.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of quality audit assurance systems.
- Experience with clinical and professional practice development.
- Have experience in change management.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
Location and Work Arrangements
Full-time, permanent position based in Waterford, requiring the ability to commute or relocate.
