Lead Anaesthetist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant in Anaesthesiology to join our team. This is a permanent full-time consultant contract with The National Maternity Hospital and St Vincent's University Hospital.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthesiology services to patients across multiple hospitals, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide expert anaesthesiology services to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, and pain management
- To work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective anaesthesiology plans
- To conduct preoperative assessments, optimize patient outcomes, and minimize risks associated with anaesthesia
- To participate in on-call rotations, ensuring timely response to emergency situations and providing 24/7 coverage as required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registration as a specialist in the Specialty Anaesthesiology with the Medical Council of Ireland
- Proven experience in anaesthesiology, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to clinical research and education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and interact with diverse stakeholders
