Job Title

  • Maintenance of editorial standards and management of reputational and editorial risk is a key responsibility of this position.
  • The role supports editorial staff across all platforms in the delivery of content, ensuring adherence to fairness, impartiality, and objectivity principles.
  • Chairing and executive leadership of the Editorial Standards Board includes review of editorial guidelines and ongoing content reviews.
  • This position serves as an advisory resource to editorial executives on reputational and editorial risk and compliance.
  • Management and leadership of the Election/Referendum Steering Group and related compliance matters are also part of the role.
  • Engagement with key stakeholders such as Coimisiun na Meon, Electoral Commission, Oireachtas Committees, government departments, and political representatives is required.

Requirements

  • Significant relevant experience in broadcasting at a senior editorial/production level is essential.
  • A working knowledge of editorial guidelines, broadcasting legislation, and regulatory codes is necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organisational and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to work collegially with programme-makers while offering an independent perspective as required is essential.
  • Proactive management of engagement with relevant stakeholders is also required.
  • A working knowledge of the operation of Registers of Interests, Register of External Activities, and Register of Gifts is necessary.
