The role of the IT Support Technician is pivotal in providing ongoing technical support to Supermac's stores and locations. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining company IT infrastructure, and ensuring that all tickets are actioned in a timely manner.
Maintenance and support of company IT infrastructure is crucial to the success of this role. This includes diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems relating to hardware and software applications, as well as logging and managing tickets and IT assets using ITIL aligned Service Desk.
Familiarity with SQL/MS SQL server and databases, as well as associated reporting tools, is essential to ensure that the business has up-to-date information. Experience working with point of sale systems and their operation would be advantageous, while excellent working knowledge of networking, including switches, routers, access points, and firewalls, is also required.
In addition to these technical skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interact with users of varying computer competency levels. Out of hours support on a scheduled/rotational basis is also a requirement.
