Assistant Warehouse Manager Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the warehouse management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including goods in/out, order picking, and loading.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve operational excellence. They will also possess strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead, motivate, and manage a team of warehouse staff to achieve operational excellence.
  • To oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, including goods in/out, order picking, and loading.
  • To deliver training, performance management, and team development initiatives.
  • To ensure safe, accurate, and efficient handling of all stock.
  • To coordinate store and e-commerce deliveries, liaising closely with operations and logistics teams.
  • To analyse and optimise warehouse processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • To provide cover for the Warehouse Manager when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar logistics or warehouse role.
  • Proven people management experience with the ability to lead from the front.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in a busy environment.
  • Retail industry experience is an advantage.
  • Competence in reporting and use of analytics tools.
