Job Overview:

To efficiently manage warehouse operations and lead a team in achieving business objectives.

  • Warehouse Management: Ensure maximum productivity without compromising Health and Safety by utilizing a team on shift to achieve accuracy in pick rates, goods-in and loading rates.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt and dispatch of goods, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing delays.
  • Customer Service: Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies to resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Communication: Respond to customer emails and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain up-to-date stock control systems and ensure accurate inventories.
  • Daily Briefing: Brief team leaders on a daily basis to ensure everyone is aware of their tasks and responsibilities.
  • Human Resources: Manage people resources, including recruitment, training and performance monitoring, in conjunction with HR.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor staff performance and progress, providing feedback and coaching to ensure productivity targets are met and exceeded.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.
  • Maintenance: Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all relevant checks are made and problems are resolved promptly.
  • Foresight: Plan future capacity requirements to ensure the warehouse is equipped to meet business needs.
  • Audit Readiness: Ensure the warehouse is maintained to the highest BRC standard and that the HACCP and Quality Management System are audit-ready at all times.
  • P&L Control: Minimize costs and maximize profit through effective management of the above.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all administrative functions required by the operation, including rotas, statutory records, timekeeping and absence management paperwork.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills and be able to motivate and inspire a team to achieve business objectives. They will also have a good understanding of logistics and supply chain management, as well as experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
