Job Title: Senior Heavy Equipment Technician

We are seeking an experienced and skilled technician to join our team in a challenging role that requires expertise in heavy vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilize your technical knowledge and skills to work on complex mechanical and electrical systems.

About the Role:

  • Perform thorough inspections and diagnostic checks on heavy vehicles to identify faults and determine the necessary repairs.
  • Carry out routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, brake pad replacements, and tire rotations to maintain the overall health of the vehicle.
  • Conduct complex fault-finding and repair operations across various systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including parts used and labor hours worked.
  • Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior colleagues to help them develop their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the workplace.
  • Take ownership of tasks and use available resources effectively to deliver high-quality results.

Requirements:

  • QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
  • Strong technical expertise with proven diagnostic and mechanical ability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Desirable: Full Category D (Bus) Licence.
  • Desirable: Experience mentoring apprentices or junior colleagues.
