Heavy Vehicle Technician Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Cork. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a range of heavy vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough inspections, conduct complex diagnostics, and deliver high-quality servicing and repairs on heavy vehicles in line with safety and technical standards.
  • Undertake fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems, utilizing your technical expertise to deliver effective solutions.
  • Work efficiently to minimize vehicle downtime, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, reporting recurring faults and potential issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve technical challenges, promoting knowledge transfer and professional growth.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Uphold strict health and safety protocols, contributing to a safe working environment.
  • Take ownership of tasks, utilizing available resources effectively to achieve high-quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (or equivalent qualification).
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
  • Strong technical expertise with proven diagnostic and mechanical ability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines within a busy, shift-based environment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Full Category D (Bus) Licence.
  • Experience mentoring junior technicians or colleagues.
