Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Medical Scientist to join our multidisciplinary laboratory team within a leading healthcare institution in Ireland. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge across various disciplines, including Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Microbiology, and Haematology.

The successful candidate will be trained across several key areas, enabling them to provide high-quality services and contribute to the growth of our laboratory team. Our multidisciplinary laboratory provides a unique environment where all Medical Scientists can develop their skills and knowledge across disciplines, facilitating career progression.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably in an Irish hospital environment.
  • Hold full registration with CORU.
  • Demonstrated experience in Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Microbiology, and Haematology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences from an approved University.
  • Possess the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or the Regional Technical College, Cork awarded prior to 1994.
  • Hold full registration with CORU.
  • Eligible for membership of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine.
  • Previous experience in Haematology, Biochemistry, Blood transfusion or Microbiology in a clinical laboratory laboratory setting in Ireland/UK.
  • Experience of ISO15189 compliance.
