API Process Development Specialist

A role has emerged in our Commercialisation, Development and Supply (CDS) team for a specialist. This position presents opportunities to work on multiple API projects, spanning manufacturing support activities, late-stage clinical product development and scale-up, new product introductions, supply campaigns, and technology transfers across existing and future facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Team Leads to ensure efficient operation of small molecule processes.
  • Partner with global Research and Development teams to co-develop new small molecule API products.
  • Provide process support for start-ups, production campaigns, and plant turnarounds.
  • Develop batch documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support evaluation and selection of raw materials, process optimisation, and alignment with regulatory and validation standards.
  • Mentor junior process engineers in managing assigned processes.
  • Lead investigations into process-related issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for equipment and process enhancements.
  • Participate in URS, IQ, DQ, OQ, and PQ phases.

This role demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in API process development and/or API supply.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years post-graduation experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation.
  • Experience with process modeling, simulation, or data analytics is beneficial.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and proactive approach to driving continuous improvement.
  • Exhibits high levels of personal integrity, credibility, and enthusiasm.
