About the Role

The Advanced Specialist Pharmacist (Pharmacotherapy) will play a crucial role in driving the Pharmacy service forward as part of UPMC Ireland's Transformation Programme.

  • This includes developing and implementing pharmacotherapy services that meet patient needs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care, and contributing to the development of pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • In addition, you will be expected to stay up-to-date with relevant guidelines and best practices, ensuring that your work is always aligned with industry standards.
Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and implementing pharmacotherapy services that are tailored to patient needs.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals from various disciplines to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Contributing to the development of pharmacy policies and procedures, ensuring they are effective and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of relevant guidelines and best practices, and applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess:

  • A professional qualification as a pharmacist.
  • SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE IN PHARMACOTHERAPY.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks effectively and managing competing demands.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position based at UPMC Whitfield Hospital in Waterford.
