Facilities Operations Specialist

We are seeking a thorough Facilities Operations Specialist with a practical mind and attention to detail who will oversee the upkeep of our facilities and ensure the continued stability of our operations.
Key Attributes:- Mechanical or Electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is required.
- 6+ years' experience in a similar Maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Leadership skills or previous supervisory experience are advantageous.
- Experience with PLC systems or completed PLC training is an advantage.
- Decisive and able to make decisions quickly and effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent numeric and analytical skills.
- Highly motivated with proven ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to multitask and focused on setting high standards.
- Team player who will work with others and individually to achieve company goals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to quickly identify practical solutions.
- Work within the ethos and standards of the company.
- Troubleshoot and repair of all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC.
- Identify root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long-term solutions.
- Ensure production efficiency is maximized and return production to full capacity promptly.
- Ensure that all breakdowns are recorded in our SAP CMMS system.
- Carry out Preventative Maintenance work as required by PM schedules and actively improve PMs to prevent issues from re-occurring.
- Maintain systems in place for spare parts stock and ensure system is being correctly utilized, also advise and source spare parts for team when required.
- Must be able to dismantle, adjust, modify, improve and assemble factory equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating/repair manuals, or drawings.
- Take an active part in all machine installations, continuous improvements and maintenance projects.
- Work with Maintenance Supervisor to address causes of downtime and suggest process improvements.
- Responsible as part of a bigger team for ensuring that all production & maintenance KPI's are achieved.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean working environment and carrying work in a safe manner ensuring safety standards are met.
- Liaise with relevant departments where necessary to assist in the smooth day-to-day running of the organization.
- Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management.
- Undertake training as and when required (MEWP, Forklift, Abrasive Wheel, Confined Spaces, First Aiders, PFPE, Manual Handling, Fire Extinguisher, etc).
- Provide cover for the Maintenance Supervisor when required.
- Liaising with contractors and planning work etc.
- Flexible working hours to meet production or maintenance deadlines.
- Work shift rotation which may include working night shifts if and when required.
- Make yourself available for overtime as and when required.
- Complete advanced training (IOSH, Duty Holder, ERT (Marshal or Warden), etc).
- Complete internal Maintenance Technician – Grade 3 induction training.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects & Capex Projects.
- Advise and guide MT2's and Apprentices in problem-solving & development.
