We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team in Ireland. As part of our FE_Products, Technology and Digitalization group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging software for our embedded devices and systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C programming languages and experience in developing firmware for embedded applications. They should also possess knowledge of software architecture for connected industrial applications/solutions, as well as expertise in industrial communications protocols such as Modbus, CAN, OPC, DNP3, and Telecoms/Network communications protocols like TCP/IP, GPRS/3G/4G, Wireless, low energy protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software for embedded devices and systems
  • Analyse and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of designs
  • Evaluate and select software components for larger solutions
  • Manage technical updates to existing product portfolio
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 7+ years of experience in best practices software development, delivery, and deployment
  • In-depth knowledge of C programming languages and experience in developing firmware for embedded applications
  • Knowledge of software architecture for connected industrial applications/solutions
  • Knowledge of embedded systems with IoT or M2M capability
  • Experience with version control software
