CPL Healthcare is recruiting for a Psychology Specialist to join our team at the Irish Prison Service in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist input for individuals with mental health issues.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Care and Management Planning team to assess and develop care plans for individuals with mental health challenges such as Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Personality and Behaviour Disorders, complex-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Self-Harm and Suicidal Behaviour, Eating Disorders, Psychosis and Schizophrenia, Addiction, and offence-related needs.
You will be responsible for conducting evidence-based psychological interventions as outlined in the Care and Management Plan. This includes assessments and interventions for individuals presenting with developmental disorders, intellectual difficulties, cognitive decline, traumatic brain injuries, limited literacy, and diverse cultural backgrounds.
Maintaining regular contact with community agencies supporting individuals upon release from custody, as well as their families and carers, is crucial. Where clinically appropriate, you may provide time-limited community interventions to facilitate a smooth transition from custody to community.
This role supports the broader IPS organization (and Criminal Justice Agency partners) through consultation, training, and education.
