Job Overview

Our client is a reputable and progressive multinational seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team in Cork. This permanent role offers a competitive salary, full benefits, significant career progression, and a hybrid working policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for financial and operational objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous oversight of service standards and manage service-level agreements to drive accountability and performance.
  • Participate in the design, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement of key performance indicators (KPIs), promoting a culture of continuous improvement across financial operations.
  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage timely and accurate month-end close processes, including the review and posting of accounting transactions, analysis and reconciliation of P&L and balance sheet accounts, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Ensure all financial records adhere to US GAAP, maintaining robust internal controls and consistently upholding corporate policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a key liaison for internal and external audits, providing accurate data and clear communication to support quarterly, interim, and year-end audit activities.
  • Assess existing processes, identify opportunities for efficiency, and implement improvements to enhance financial operations and reporting.
  • Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting in alignment with corporate governance and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders, ensuring transparency and shared understanding across functions.
  • Accountable for financial reporting and compliance with both US GAAP and local accounting standards.
  • Act as an advocate for the Global Financial Services model, contributing to the ongoing evolution of finance architecture and operating philosophy.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills, effectively working across diverse teams and geographies while developing and mentoring team members.
  • Quickly establish credibility with cross-functional and cross-cultural audiences; skilled at influencing stakeholders at various organizational levels.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Fully Qualified Accountant – ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA
  • 2 Years PQE
  • Multinational Experience an advantage
  • Knowledge of US GAAP essential
  • Forward-thinking individual who can work off their own innovative ideas
  • Experience working with ERPs also essential
  • The ability to meet strict deadlines in a timely and efficient manner
