Senior Electrical Engineer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Cork team. As a key member of the team, you will play a leading role in designing innovative electrical systems for various building projects.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and specification of electrical engineering solutions for buildings, ensuring compliance with all current regulations and standards. You will work closely with clients, project engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.

  • Lead the design and specification of electrical engineering solutions for buildings.
  • Collaborate directly with clients and project teams to define requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
  • Oversee pre-construction activities, including design development, service coordination, technical submittals, and sub-contract management.
  • Provide technical support to estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams.
  • Offer off-site technical support to construction teams as needed.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, helping them grow and develop their skills.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Strong technical expertise in all aspects of electrical engineering services and design.
  • A third-level qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • At least 7 years' relevant experience, ideally within a design consultancy environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of current design guides, Building Regulations, EN and IEC standards.
  • Experience with Electrical Design Software such as Dialux and Amtech or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work well within multifunctional project teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
