Job Description

Are you ready to elevate your electrical engineering career to new heights? We're seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cork. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to design innovative electrical systems for a wide range of building projects.

You'll collaborate closely with clients, project engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver tailored technical solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and excellence. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping the built environment, making a real difference in people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and specification of electrical engineering solutions for buildings, ensuring compliance with current regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate directly with clients and project teams to define requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
  • Oversee pre-construction activities, including design development, service coordination, technical submittals, and subcontract management.
  • Provide technical support to estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams.
  • Offer off-site technical support to construction teams as needed.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, helping them grow and develop their skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong technical expertise in all aspects of electrical engineering services and design.
  • A third-level qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • At least 7 years' relevant experience, ideally within a design consultancy environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of current design guides, building regulations, EN and IEC standards.
  • Experience with electrical design software such as Dialux and Amtech or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work well within multifunctional project teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
