Embark on a dynamic career as a Naval Service Recruit in Ireland's professional and elite maritime team.

About the Role:
  • This role commences with a 12-week foundational training program focusing on physical fitness, discipline, and basic naval skills.
  • Upon completion, you'll progress to Ordinary Rate and undertake specialized training in one of four branches: Seaman's, Communications, Mechanicians, or Supplies.
  • Following qualification, you'll be promoted to Able Rate and assigned to a Naval Service ship for a two-year sea rotation.
  • Duties encompass general maintenance, boat operations, firefighting, damage control, and participating in drug interdiction operations as part of naval boarding teams.
  • Opportunities for further training and specialization are available for those seeking to advance their careers within the Naval Service.
Requirements:
  • No formal education qualifications are required
  • Applicants must be between 18–39 years old on the application deadline
  • Irish citizenship or lawful entitlement to work in Ireland is mandatory. A clean character record and successful security clearance are also essential. Applicants must meet minimum medical and physical fitness standards and complete all phases of the induction process, including interview, fitness test, medical examination, and Garda vetting.
