Job Title: Senior Actuary - Experience Studies Manager

Are you a seasoned actuary with experience in managing teams and overseeing the production of complex studies? Do you have excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to fast-paced environments?

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced actuary to join our team as a Senior Actuary - Experience Studies Manager. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing the production of experience studies, managing a team of actuaries, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with our operations, new business, and actuarial reporting teams to ensure seamless integration of data flow and quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and oversee the production of experience studies to support actuarial assumption reviews and updates to business on how experience is materialising relative to assumptions.
- Manage a small team of actuaries and trainee actuaries, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure successful outcomes.
- Implement new reinsurance transactions into the experience study model, ensuring accurate and efficient data management.
- Draft clear and concise documentation and effectively communicate key insights and results to senior management.
- Support the design, development, and implementation of improvements to the experience study methodology, models, and processes to optimise existing studies, accelerate production timelines, and enhance controls environment.

Requirements:

- An actuarial qualification with 4+ years post-qualification relevant technical experience.
- Good knowledge and experience of experience studies, assumption setting, actuarial reporting, and/or pricing.
- People management experience with the ability to manage a team to successful outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to various audiences.
- Ability to maintain a deep understanding of experience study methodologies and data analytic techniques, including industry developments and new technologies.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work to a flexible schedule, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously to demanding schedules.
