About Our Role

Your new role involves carrying out a range of duties relating to the licensing and enforcement of the Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Licensing Scheme.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out inspections, surveys, site visits, interviews and research work to support the HMO licensing and enforcement scheme.
  • Validating all assigned applications in a timely manner, ensuring that relevant information and appropriate fees are provided according to the licensing framework.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation relating to the Houses in Multiple Occupation (Northern Ireland) Act 2016.
  • Supporting the monitoring and actioning of complaints regarding anti-social behaviour (ASB) and environmental quality issues linked to licensed HMO premises.
Key Requirements:
  • A third-level qualification in a relevant field with at least one year's experience of legislative enforcement and application.
  • A full, current driving license and access to a vehicle for business use.
