Solar Design Engineer Opportunity

Join our innovative team as a Solar Design Engineer and contribute to accelerating the transition towards zero-carbon energy across various sectors.

You will work closely with a highly experienced management team to develop, design, construct, operate, fund, and maintain multi-technology assets. Your expertise will be essential in:

  • Identifying and mitigating project risks
  • Defining project objectives, scope, deliverables, and milestones
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of company technologies and solutions
  • Supporting relationship building with clients, suppliers, and contractors
  • Implementing best practice engineering methods
  • Providing technical guidance to engineering staff and management
  • Developing and assisting in energy project design, costing, and optimization
  • Coordinating with suppliers and contractors for bespoke energy solutions
  • Performing energy evaluations and analyses with appropriate tools
  • Engaging in business development and project delivery discussions
  • Researching emerging energy technologies and market trends
  • Preparing project reports and proposals
  • Designing solar farms, including layout, mounting systems, wiring, and grid connection
  • Maintaining knowledge of Irish permitting systems
  • Conducting site visits
  • Preparing design documentation using CAD tools (PVCase, AutoCAD, BIM)
  • Ensuring designs meet interconnection and operational requirements
  • Staying updated on industry standards and regulations
Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • 10+ years experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, BIM
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven self-starter and team leader
  • Desire to contribute to decarbonisation and renewable energy transition
  • Track record of delivering solar projects on time and to high standards
Qualifications:

A successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Project Management qualification (advantage)
  • Valid Full Driver's License (advantage)
  • Entitlement to work in Ireland
