We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Ecologist to manage individual contracts and deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy and be able to provide specialist ecological advice across various projects.
Main Responsibilities- Manage contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services, ensuring quality control with a strong focus on accuracy, timelines, and continuous improvement of the Ecology team's output.
- Provide specialist ecological advice across various projects, including site surveys and fieldwork.
- Plan, conduct, and oversee site ecological surveys and fieldwork, preparing and supervising the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
- Conduct Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), and other environmental reports.
- Write detailed technical reports and other project deliverables, demonstrating expertise as an expert witness during Oral Hearings.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, participating in meetings with clients and design teams as needed.
- Degree in ecology or related discipline.
- At least seven years of post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy.
- Member of CIEEM, CIWEM, or comparable professional body.
- Experienced in participating in oral hearing process and serving as an expert witness.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation.
- Strong technical report writing skills.
- Proven experience in preparing and overseeing the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
- Experienced in collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
- Holds a full, clean driver's licence.
