
Expert Payroll Specialist

The key objective of this role is to act as the liaison between our employees and third-party payroll providers, ensuring accurate and timely production of monthly payrolls across various regions.
This involves reviewing and validating incoming payroll data from managers, employees, stakeholders, and systems to ensure accurate inputs are transferred to our third-party payroll providers within set deadlines.
- Review and validate incoming payroll data from various sources.
- Validate monthly payroll reports produced by third-party providers using internal payroll controls to ensure accuracy.
This individual will also serve as the first point of contact for all payroll queries and assist employees in resolving issues promptly. Key responsibilities include preparing monthly payroll journals for upload into the finance system, assisting with other month-end closing activities, and raising enhancements for the HRIT team to fix data gaps in the Workday system identified after monthly payroll controls have been performed.
Additionally, this role will support payroll implementations as we expand into new markets, participate in annual audits where applicable, and monitor deadlines to ensure timely payment of employees.
Requirements- Minimum 3 years of Irish payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within a Finance/HR/Payroll function, preferably with a shared service center.
- Comfortable with change management concepts, demonstrating flexibility and agility in an evolving system and process landscape.
- Fluent business English, additional European languages desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience of HR system (Workday), Payroll platforms (ActivPayroll), E-Support tools (Service Now) desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to exercise independent discretion on matters of significance.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both within a team and independently.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or equivalent.
