Learning and Development Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our team. As an Early Years Educator, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging learning environments that support the development of young children.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and assess play-based activities that stimulate cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in children.
Observe and document children's progress, ensuring developmental milestones are met and individualised plans are in place where needed.
Provide support for children with additional needs and adapt activities to ensure inclusivity.
Foster a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for children, prioritising their wellbeing at all times.
Promote positive behaviour and implement strategies to support children through challenging behaviours.
Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, maintaining a clean and organised space.
Collaborate with fellow educators to create and execute a comprehensive and dynamic curriculum.
Share observations, insights, and strategies with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's learning.
Engage in regular team meetings to discuss educational plans, child development, and team goals.
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents and caregivers, keeping them updated on their child's progress and wellbeing.
Provide guidance and support to parents as needed, ensuring they feel confident in their child's development and learning experiences.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of children's development, including learning journals and progress reports.
Maintain proper documentation in line with regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and health and safety protocols.
Participate in training and development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Attend workshops, team meetings, and other professional development sessions as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) is required, with higher qualifications (Level 6 or above) being desirable.
Previous experience working in an early years setting or similar childcare environment is preferred.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with children are essential.
Knowledge and understanding of child safeguarding and health and safety standards are also required.
First Aid Certification (or willingness to complete certification) is highly valued.
