Technical Manager - Food Safety Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring food safety, quality, and compliance with legal, industry, and customer standards.

About the Role

The Technical Manager is a critical position that requires strong leadership and technical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining continuity and upholding high standards throughout operations.

This is a 15-month fixed-term contract that offers opportunities for growth and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards by maintaining and improving robust food safety systems.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities to ensure legal compliance.
  • Oversee internal and external audits to ensure readiness for regulatory and customer inspections.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of the site's HACCP plan.
  • Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Maintain the Quality Management System and associated documentation.
  • Oversee calibration, testing, and maintenance of equipment critical to quality control.
  • Manage data collection, analysis, and reporting for validations and performance indicators.
  • Lead the investigation and solution of product complaints, recalls, or quality incidents.
  • Ensure robust traceability systems are in place for effective incident management.
  • Partner with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to maintain product quality and process efficiency.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A third-level degree in food science, food technology, or a similar field.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a technical role within food manufacturing, ideally at a management level.
  • Solid understanding of the meat industry and its equipment and services.
  • Flexibility, as the site operates 24/7.
  • Excellent management and communication skills.
