Project Manager Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership across various project-related activities. A strong understanding of the design, development, and validation of manufacturing technologies is essential for this role.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering leadership for new equipment and process changes, ensuring all activities are completed and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the introduction of new capital equipment and oversee the associated qualification and validation activities - VP, IQ, OQ, PQ.
  • Evaluate process layouts to ensure optimal utilisation of floor space and efficient process flow.
  • Develop and implement appropriate supporting documentation, including SOPs, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process work instructions compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Transfer and implement processes from development or other manufacturing facilities.
  • Own budgetary, scheduling, and project databases, and report regularly on progress and any issues that may impact cost or schedule.
  • Develop specifications in the form of a URS for new equipment purchases.
  • Coordinate capital acquisition activities.
  • Provide technical guidance for maintenance technicians and engineers within the team.
  • Conduct MSA studies for products and new processes.
  • Act as technical lead for projects, including scoping, approval, budgeting, specification, execution, qualification, and operational handover.
  • Maintain Quality Management Systems requirements on site at all times.
  • Provide out-of-hours support as required by management or mandated by shutdowns and/or equipment failures.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience is required.
  • Demonstrated Project Engineering skills through the delivery of business-critical projects.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable of leading, influencing, and providing technical direction to Engineers, Coop Students, Technicians, and operators.
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic, and results-driven environment.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
  • A technological pioneer willing to source, investigate, and implement technological and automation advances.
  • A confident and effective decision maker with proven leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
