Job Overview

In this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation solutions to enhance production efficiency, quality, and profitability.

This individual will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of projects to meet targeted timelines and goals.

This role requires strong technical skills, including experience with automation systems, project management, and quality control.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, preferably in a regulated industry such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.

The Automation Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and develop solutions to implement those changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automation solutions to improve production efficiency and quality

  • Manage and execute projects to meet targeted timelines and goals

  • Ensure technical and customer requirements are achieved

  • Troubleshoot and repair automation systems

  • Evaluate and maintain proper machine safeties

  • Analyze production data to ensure automation lines are meeting their targeted output and OEE

  • Maintain quality finished product through proper maintenance and operation of all automation

  • Interface daily with engineering manager and shift support staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree In a relevant Engineering subject preferred

  • Minimum 3 years Experience in medical device industry or other regulated industry required

  • Minimum 3 years Experience in supporting technical project management preferred

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Background in medical devices/pharmaceutical would be a plus

  • Knowledge of quality systems requirements, FDA Quality System Regulation, cGMP and relevant ISO standards

Travel Requirements: 5%: Up to 13 business days per year

Physical Requirements: Light-Exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects
