Postoperative Recovery Nurse

We are seeking an exceptional nurse to join our recovery room team in the post-anesthesia care unit. As a key member of our team, you will provide physical and psychological care to immediate post-operative patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate as a Recovery Room Nurse providing physical and psychological care to immediate post-operative patients.
  • Work within professional guidelines as laid down by NMBI Code of Conduct for Nurses.
  • Carry out all Recovery Room Nursing practice in accordance with hospital policies; including the care, control and administration of medicines.
  • Maintain accurate nursing records and theatre and recovery records as per hospital policy.
  • Collaborate with Theatre Staff in order to provide a high standard of nursing practice.
  • Maintain and update own knowledge continuously, and participate in on-going education.
  • Be aware of the hazards which can occur within the Theatre and Recovery Room Department, i.e. electrical, chemical and transport, and initiate preventative measures.

As a highly skilled and dedicated professional, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will also have strong commitment to pre and post registration nurse education, and display evidence of continuing professional development.

Our ideal candidate will hold an NMBI Registered General Nurse licence, with a minimum of five years recent relevant post-registration experience in the acute hospital setting. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is essential, with a Post Graduate course desirable.
