Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality Control team as a Laboratory Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who wish to develop a career in a laboratory environment and gain valuable skills and knowledge.

As a Laboratory Apprentice, you will be responsible for operating company equipment and instruments effectively according to standard operating procedures. You will also work safely within a laboratory and work setting, performing a range of chemistry techniques including pipetting, auto-titrations, pH measurement, weighing, diluting, volumetric calculations, Karl Fischer, Thin Layer Chromatography, physical testing, and HPLC.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Operating Equipment: Ensure the safe and effective operation of company equipment and instruments.
  • Safety Protocols: Work safely within a laboratory and work setting, adhering to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Chemistry Techniques: Perform a range of chemistry techniques, including pipetting, auto-titrations, pH measurement, weighing, diluting, volumetric calculations, Karl Fischer, Thin Layer Chromatography, physical testing, and HPLC.


About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess effective communication skills, including speaking, listening, writing, body language, and presentation. You should also be able to work effectively within a team, demonstrating independence and responsibility in initiating and completing tasks. Additionally, you should have a good understanding of the impact of your work on others, with regard to diversity and equality, and be able to adapt to change and respond to management processes.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Minimum Grade 06 in 5 Leaving Certificate subjects, including maths and a science subject, or Level 6 qualification in a related discipline, or mature student status; 250 CAO points.
  • Skills: Effective communication skills, ability to work within a team, independence and responsibility, understanding of diversity and equality, and adaptability to change.
