Mechanical Systems Turnover Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Turnover Engineer to join our team. This is a contract role that will last 12 months, with a competitive hourly rate.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the execution and completion of mechanical systems in various projects, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and operational standards prior to handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Systems Evaluation: Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and process systems, to verify compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  2. Documentation Management: Oversee the compilation and review of turnover documentation, including as-built drawings, equipment manuals, inspection reports, and compliance certifications, ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with project engineers, contractors, and operations teams to facilitate smooth communication and coordination regarding mechanical systems, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise during final inspections and tests.
  4. Testing and Commissioning: Collaborate on testing and commissioning activities, ensuring that all mechanical systems are operationally ready and that performance criteria are met.
  5. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards, conducting audits as necessary to uphold safety and quality benchmarks.
  6. Handover Support: Assist in the formal handover process, providing training and support to operations personnel and ensuring they are familiar with system functionalities and maintenance requirements.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements, develop best practices for turnover processes, and contribute to ongoing team training and development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in mechanical systems turnover, project management, or a similar role within the engineering or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and project management software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
