Job Title: Assistant Care Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of your care team by mentoring and guiding them through their work.
  • Conduct spot checks with healthcare assistants within the community to ensure high-quality care standards are being met.
  • Carry out regular client reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing care plans and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with our Quality and Compliance team regarding HIQA and Incident Management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the HSE.
  • Introduce new staff members to the team, ensuring a smooth transition and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee staff shadowing activities, promoting a culture of Health & Safety awareness and compliance.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, coordinating package changes and discharges as needed.
  • Evaluate the quality of care delivered to clients and report any concerns to the Area Manager.

Office Responsibilities:

  • Update online system documentation, including review records and spot check reports.
  • Plan and book reviews, ensuring timely confirmation with next-of-kin and clients.
  • Develop a system for conducting spot checks with healthcare staff, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
  • Manage paperwork and filing systems, maintaining accurate records and supporting colleagues as needed.
  • Provide additional support to coordinators during emergency situations, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, sharing experiences and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant health or social care background, with experience in supervisory roles.
  • 1 year's experience in Healthcare supervision, demonstrating leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
  • Full QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support and a Level 6 Supervisory Management qualification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to empathize with clients and their families.
  • A full clean driving license and access to a vehicle, enabling flexible and responsive service delivery.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a warm and empathetic approach to interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a basic understanding of IT systems and technologies.
  • Highly organized, with excellent time management skills, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with ease.
