Cloud Data Engineer Role

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Data Engineer to join our team.

This is a 12-month rolling contract position that requires the candidate to build scalable, cloud-based data solutions and deliver meaningful insights across the business.

The successful candidate will have experience in data engineering within cloud-focused environments and strong skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL.

The role involves developing and maintaining robust data pipelines using Databricks, working across cloud and on-premises environments, including Snowflake and object storage.

The ideal candidate will also have experience with integrating data from various sources, improving and streamlining existing SQL logic, views, and stored procedures, as well as partnering with business teams to build reports and dashboards using Power BI.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using Databricks and PySpark.
  • Work across cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring seamless data flow and integration.
  • Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable code.
  • Support data quality, lineage, and governance using tools such as Atlan or Monte Carlo.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in data engineering within cloud-focused environments.
  • Strong skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with business stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Background in Scaled Agile methodologies.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
