AI and Digital Cultural Heritage Research Fellow

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of UCD's research in AI and digital cultural heritage. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the school's research agenda, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, and collaborating with colleagues across the College of Social Sciences and Law.

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional researcher with expertise in AI and digital cultural heritage to join our team as a research fellow. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of publications, excellent communication skills, and experience in managing research projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in AI and digital cultural heritage, with a focus on developing innovative solutions for real-world problems;
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in AI and digital cultural heritage-related courses;
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the College of Social Sciences and Law to advance the school's research agenda;
  • Develop and manage research projects, including securing funding and leading teams of researchers;
  • Disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and other forms of communication.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A PhD in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information studies, digital humanities);
  • Expertise in AI and digital cultural heritage, including knowledge of current trends and developments;
  • Experience in conducting research and publishing in top-tier journals and conferences;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds;
  • Proven ability to secure research funding and lead teams of researchers.
