As our Project Health, Safety and Environment Advisor (North Dublin), you will be responsible for defining and implementing actions to improve safety, operating efficiency, quality, and productivity in a safe working environment within the local business.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote safe working practices and ensure the implementation of company HSE policy and procedures on site.
  2. Carry out regular site HSE inspections and report back findings.
  3. Ensure that relevant documentation relating to the Health & Safety and Environmental Systems are issued in accordance with the company policy.
  4. Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, and conservation.
  5. Ensure that HSE issues are discussed at project review meetings.
  6. Keep and maintain clear records to comply with company internal and external audit standards.
  7. Review and update the HSE legal register as required.
  8. Manage the investigation of accidents and incidents, report findings, and ensure actions are complete.
  9. Oversee the implementation of duties in regard to Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005; Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007; Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
  10. Ensure that the relevant documentation relating to the requirements of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations) are compliant with external requirements.
  11. Assist site managers and sub-contractor owners with risk assessments and sub-contractor evaluations and documentation review when requested.
  12. Deliver HSE training where appropriate and as agreed with the Project Manager.
  13. Suggest, communicate, and promote initiatives for incident prevention and forward to Project Manager / HSE & Sustainability Manager for consideration.
  14. Support the Project Manager in Incident investigation.
  15. Keep up-to-date on Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  16. Communicate, demonstrate, and promote HSE ethos, values, and concepts using presentation skills, toolbox talks, and other forms of communication.
  17. Become a Role Model for Safe Behaviour.
  18. Liaise with the relevant legal authorities.
  19. Knowledge of legal requirements especially in regard to the PSCS role and duties.

About You:

  • You should have experience of Health, Safety and Environmental management in an engineering operation of a similar size and complexity.
  • You should have a working knowledge of PSCS duties.
  • Expertise in EHS management, project and service management is preferred.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or higher in EHS.
  • You should be proficient in MS Office, SharePoint, ShareFile & Microsoft Teams.
  • You should have practical experience of Environmental permitting, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and/or similar management systems.
  • You should possess excellent assertive communication skills, verbal and written.
  • You should be proactive, enthusiastic, and have a dedicated work ethic.
  • You should be able to deal with people at all levels and be committed to working as part of a team.
  • Membership of IOSH / IEMA would be advantageous.
